Shaktipat and the observer within

Double sun over the water

Yesterday I received a shaktipat. Actually, I was a bit skeptical before going because I did not know the person giving it and in the tradition I was brought up in, they do not give shaktipats to strangers. I was pleasantly surprised, though. We were 8 people in a room in this person’s home and there was a calm and welcoming atmosphere. The home was in a klondyke-style settlement and despite the proximity to the highway, it felt very close to nature. The door was open and I could hear birds chirping outside. A cat came to visit.

Anywho. The eight of us did a 2.5-hour Osho-style meditation while the person giving the shaktipat went around touching different energy centers on our bodies in order to activate our kundalini. I had a beautiful session, with wonderful healing energy moving through me. At some point, my conscience became totally silent and at peace just observing everything around me and inside me move. Being the observer reminds me that I am not my thoughts and I am not my body.

These days, exactly, it’s been 16 years since my first experience with that. It was during a silent period at an ashram in Sweden. It was a great revelation to me. I was at a place in my life with so much hurt and confusion and I believe this experience made it possible for me to choose a different path. A path that led me away from the suffering. Still to this day I am grateful every time I reach that state inside.

Biking home through nature along the harbor was blissful, and I felt such a deep connection to nature and everything around me. (It was as corny as it sounds – just have a look at the photo in this post).

I slept like a baby for the first time since the full moon on Monday.

I thank the Goddess for letting me remember that we are one blood, one breath, one consciousness.
